On the 9th of November, the A2 Spanish class in the afternoon had a twist. As we were studying the Spanish Civil War and its consequences we were given the
opportunity to speak to an actual General in the Spanish Army. My uncle, General Alvaro Michael, who is currently the General of army in the area of Castilla
y Leon accepted Mrs Atkins’ invitation to be interviewed . Using Skype, a webcam and a slightly dodgy microphone we got to individually ask him questions
on the Civil War and its impacts on today’s society, especially in the army. Although the sound was a bit broken we still managed to hear a lot of interesting information (in Spanish of course!) and overall it was a very informative and an exciting way to learn about the war.
