Canning House Essay Competition

Canning House is the cultural organization that represents Latin America and Brazil in the United Kingdom. Every year they organize an Essay Competition targeted at Spanish and Portuguese language students aged 17-19. The students are encouraged to produce a sophisticated piece of persuasive writing in the form of an essay of 750-1000 words. They should display their linguistic flair and capacity for free expression in their chosen language. There are a range of prizes to reward their effort which include cash prizes and even a fully paid return trip to Latin America.  The topic for this year’s essay is:

“What particular contribution does Latin America or Iberia make to the modern World?”

One of our AS students, Rosemary Walsmley is entering this year’s competition. Her writing skills are of very high standard and she has a unique ability to analyse complicated concepts in a clear and coherent way.  We wish her the best of luck. ¡Buena Suerte!
